OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Sidrah Gardens School philosophy enjoins learning and practice from the cradle to the grave. Our philosophy is underpinned by a genuine, sincere concern for the social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development of students. Our commitment is to the development of long-term reciprocal relationships between teachers, students and families where teachers play a guiding role in the lives of students. Sidrah Gardens is a place where students develop a strong sense of companionship, where their intellectual and spiritual development is fostered.

A place where the natural environment is acknowledged as a masterpiece of creation and a source of deep contemplation, reflection and knowledge. Set on a heavily vegetated land the school environment lends itself to extensive opportunities for students to explore, discover and contemplate. We believe students’ interactions with nature are learning experiences that foster the development of empathy, care, compassion and responsibility.

We believe that Knowledge is divine and that all subjects of knowledge are interrelated as a set of signs that point to the perfection of The Divine. We believe students need to develop critical analytical and reflective skills to equip themselves to be productive contributors in this modern world. We believe that Knowledge encompasses more than academic or intellectual capability and that the building of character, spirituality, relationships, social skills and etiquettes is foundational to the development of active, productive and beneficial citizens of the world.

The role of the school is to provide an environment that exposes students to rich learning opportunities that are informed by both the ideas and interests of children and the facilitation of adults.

The role of the school is to provide an environment that exposes students to rich learning opportunities that are informed by both the ideas and interests of children and the facilitation of adults. A learning community where teachers and adults share a responsibility and sensitivity towards the learning dispositions of students. A place that promotes the respect and understanding of peoples and cultures from around world.

Our approach to Education is grounded in principles of knowledge, action and sincerity. We believe that beneficial Knowledge is that which transforms character and brings one closer to the Divine. Through this understanding, we derive principles such as the implementation of knowledge, sincerity in actions and contemplation, which underpin our holistic approach to education.

We believe that a successful educational experience is one that develops and nurtures a student to build a strong self-identity, instilling a strong sense of responsibility, purpose and direction in engaging and contributing as a citizen of this world. We believe that refined character and a strong connection to the Creator is imperative to a successful educational experience. We believe that critical thinking, resilience and independence are essential components of building a child’s character as a competent, involved and empowered learner.
